Tartare is a dish made with raw meat or fish. The most common type is beef tartare. The meat is finely chopped and mixed with spices, onions, and sometimes egg. People eat it with bread. It is fresh and very tasty. It might be a little surprise for some who are not used to eating raw meat!
Escargot is another famous French food. It is made from snails! Many people think it is strange, but escargot is very delicious. The snails are cooked with garlic, butter, and parsley. They are usually served in their shells. Some people eat escargot at special dinners or in fancy restaurants. The texture is soft, and the garlic butter gives it a wonderful taste.
